Principal's Message
Dear Magee Bears,
It is with great pride and excitement that I am writing to you to introduce myself, Ana Melgar-Quinteros, as the principal at Magee Academy of Arts and Sciences. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a school with a strong commitment to excellence.
I would like to take an opportunity to let you know my background. I went to elementary, middle and high school in Pico Rivera and started my teaching career in the El Rancho Unified School District as well! El Rancho Unified and Pico Rivera are definitely home to me! I worked at El Rancho High School for 5 years as a math teacher and then became a Dean of students at El Rancho High School for 3 years. My most recent administrative experience was at Rivera Middle School where I was an assistant principal for 6 years. Through those years I have been able to gain a lot of experience that allows me to work and help build on Magee’s accomplishments. I know together we will continue to do wonderful things and make it a great place for kids.
At Magee Academy of Arts and Sciences, excellence is the expectation! Working alongside the Magee staff, we will strive every day to provide the best possible education for each student. We will continue to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment through the implementation of our school wide motto of: Promoting a positive Environment, Acting Responsibly, Willing to Learn, Showing Respect (PAWS). We will continue to ensure we meet the academic needs of all students by engaging your child in rigorous and relevant educational experiences through quality instruction.
Parents, teachers, support staff, and administration all have an important role to encourage our children to become active learners. It is my sincere desire to continue to provide expanded opportunities for our students to acquire the skills, academically, social and emotionally, to become upstanding citizens in a vastly changing society.
I am confident we can continue to build upon the slogan that “Magee brings out the best in Me” to make our school an even better place for our students to learn and grow.
I look forward to the work that we will do together. Please feel free to visit, call, or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas.
Sincerely,
Ana Melgar-Quinteros
Principal
